Faster SMS delivery - scheduledDelivery seems to default to 1 min
Hi, I have ported my app that used the old API over to the new one. All working fine, except I can't work out how to set the message delivery to be faster, it seems the minimum delay is 1 minute, the old API would deliver a message in a couple of seconds. We use the SMS facility as an alerting tool, and having a minute delay reduces the effectiveness. When I try the send API scheduledDelivery = 0, it errors out as invalid, and not setting scheduledDelivery defaults to 1 minuite. Is there any other way to speed up delivery?

Hi Deandob

Just try sending with the to: and body:, that should send near instantly

Still slow
If I just send to: and body: it takes about 30 - 40 seconds, a little faster but much slower than the old API which sent the SMS in a couple of seconds. Its a problem because we are using the API as a real time alert, and this amount of delay isn't helpful. My mobile has on an Optus network which may explain the slowness, however this wasn't an issue old Telstra API. Is this a problem with the new system or is it always going to be this slow?

Hi deandob

Cross domesitic networks it should be quicker, are you running via any firewalls or anything that could block or delay the api call?

Using free tier keys running on a localhost most will deliver in about 10 seconds max (usually quicker) although we are indeed at the behest of joining networks.

In saying we are consistently upgrading network and infrastructure behind the API and there are some deployments happening this week that will likely help increase performance.
